It’s been three years since I last wrote anything here. A whole lot has happened between that time and now. 2020 is definitely that year we all didn’t see coming, it indeed took a heavy toll on me, but in all, I am grateful for life.

I dropped a new EP in November called Raydiation. The idea behind the EP was a touch on different subjects I was feeling at the time. For example, I wrote the love song “Nkem” because I truly found love this year. I just wanted to express how I felt about the one who makes me smile every single day now. She is indeed a huge blessing to me and I love her with everything. I really look forward to marrying her pretty soon, it just feels like the right thing to do when you have found your own person.

“Again” was a funny idea that came to me in the bathroom, it seems to be the song most people love on the EP. I had never made any song that had that highlife infusion before so when the idea came, I knew I was wanted to do it. I am really glad Tmax brought the ideas I had to live and we both had fun working on the song in the studio together.

I also had a great time working with Defayo and A Mose on the song “Blown”. we bounced ideas back and forth until we were all satisfied with what we wanted to achieve with the song. I used to worry about metrics, but that does not bother me anymore, I know that I am “Blessed” and nothing can “Tiff my Joy”. I put my heart into my art and if it doesn’t get appreciated then so be it, I will always love making music but for now, I’m taking a break. “Big Up” to everyone who has supported my music consistently, you’re the reason I do this, and I will get back to doing it again soon.

I recently started my Masters in Digital Marketing and Sales. I am on a whole new journey right now and I can’t wait to explore the new opportunities in this sector. I am excited to see what the next phase of my life brings, hopefully, I get to share my gifts with the world not just as “Rymsta Ray” but as “Raymond Ekwu”.
